After a break for some time, we decided again this year to list our wines in the renowned wine guide Eichelmann - Germany's wines. Here is the result.

At Weingut Neiß, we produce mineral-linear-Driven Rieslings and Stimulating Pinot-Family wines from the elevated vineyards of richly calcareous soils of the cool Northern pfalz!
The estate's wines benefit naturally from the region's distinctive coolness and from the west wind circulating regularly through the vineyards, providing a longer vegetation period.
The Result: wines of moderate alcohol levels and great flavor depths. Even when ripe fruit and fully developed aromas are in play, the refreshing acid backbone remains in place.
The high and clearly visible limestone content of the soils has a decisive influence on our wines, which are dense, compact and powerful thanks to our extremely natural approach and the extra portion of manual work. Our wines are characterized by fresh elegance and animating lightness paired with clarity and straightforwardness.

Our winery is right at the top of the Palatinate with the best conditions for long-lasting top wines and mineral elegance at all levels of quality.
Natural coolness
at the highest level
Our vineyards in Kindenheim, Bockenheim and Zell are up to 250 meters (NHN) and thus significantly higher than comparable locations in the North Palatinate.
In contrast to classic Mittelhardt, they are exposed to wind, benefit from westerly winds, which ventilate them well, and from higher rainfall.
As a result, the growing season starts up to ten days later. The ripening phase of the grapes is longer due to the cooler autumn climate, which gives the wines moderate alcohol levels and great depth of taste. Even with highly ripe grapes and full aromas, the coolness preserves a refreshing acid structure.

The very high lime contents in the soils of our winery are another important factor and decisively shape wine style.
The high proportion of old, deep-rooted vineyards, which are almost 50 years old, also significantly influence the character of our wines.

All of this — the special location in the North Palatinate, the soil composition, the hillside location, the microclimate and the selection of varieties and clones allow great wines to grow, with lots of strength and density, which inspire young people and make them last for a long wine life.

A fixed and eagerly awaited date for us is November 1st. Because this gives the go-ahead for the sale of the new vintage of our two top Rieslings Kindenheimer Burgweg and Zeller Schwarzer Herrgott. Two wines from very special vineyards.

In the big tasting of the “Falstaff Grauburgunder Trophy”, our Grauburgunder Fumé convinced the jury of experts and was awarded 93 points.
