In the big tasting of the “Falstaff Grauburgunder Trophy”, our 2022 Grauburgunder Fumé convinced the jury of experts and was awarded 93 points.
Ulrich Sautter, editor-in-chief of wine at Falstaff, describes our wine in his notes as follows:
“Subtle blood orange in color. Fresh nose, even after blood orange, rose hip, pink grapefruit, pear, quince and little smoke. On the palate with tension, brisk acidity, citric and also salty connoted, pink grapefruit and lime juice support the freshness, medium density, fine phenolic. Unusual design, fun to drink.”
We are very pleased with this rating, as wines outside the mainstream often fall through the cracks in competitions. All the better that the “Natural Wine” category selection is slowly but surely becoming firmly established and that our wine is also being recognized in this way.
