For the 13th time, more than 30 experienced wine experts, including journalists, sommeliers, winemakers and retailers, sat down at a table with the VINUM editorial team and tasted more than 1,300 Rieslings in seven categories. The preliminary round and final were held as blind tastings. At the end of this renowned competition, the VINUM Riesling Champion, the best Rieslings were selected.
We are particularly pleased with the great rating of our 2022 Zeller Schwarzer Herrgott Riesling - the wine scored a great 94 points.
The 2022 vintage is only our second year in which we were able to work in this exceptional vineyard. In the cool climate of the massive limestone site, which faces completely south, the vines grow at altitudes of 170 to 250 meters in an impressive topographical orientation. The results are true characters: wonderfully mineral-herbal wines with sparse elegance. Another reason to be happy is that it was the best decorated Black Lord in the competition.
